iTunes 10.5.2.11 doesn't recognize Outlook 2010

I have a PC running Windows 7 (64-bit) with iTunes 10.5.2.11 and it is not recognizing Outlook 2010 as an application for calendar, contacts & notes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all Apple applications (iTunes, Bonjour, QuickTime, Mobile Device Support, Software Update, etc). When I attach my iPod Touch 3G, the "Info" tab in iTunes does not list Outlook as an available application to sync contacts or calendars. In the calendars section, it simply says "No supported calendar application can be found." Help!!!

Windows 7

I wondered about System Mechanic because of what it does to the registry. Mine is set on auto for this machine. Thanks for the info VOIPKAM. I tried your fix and it worked w/o using Office Diags. Like all I guess we will have to wait on Sys Mech folks. Probably we need to go to their community BB and clue them in.

Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas and a VERY Happy New Year to all...!

HI evkatz, I did online on Saturday Dec. 24th. I don't think Iolo (System Mechanic OEM) has a live phone support. I gave them all the details via email Support. I am not confident we will hear back from them anytime soon. I searched the Iolo's website support page for iTunes, and did not find even one posting.

If I get a response from the folks at Iolo.com, I will post everyone another update. For the time beging, I am not going to run System Mechanic.

I had also sync problems. Itunes was not ablo to see outlook 2007 in the info screen. In my case and was giving different errors telling it is unable to sync.

The problem was that the pc was just in a different time zone! Maybe this helps some of you as I saw people posting the same problembut without any solution.

I would say this is a bug in Itunes, if the time is not correct SyncServer.exe crashes...

Had the same problem list here and have been monitoring the discussion to try and get this fixed. I have Windows 7 pro and latest versions of iTunes and System Mechanic. The solution Voipkam noted worked for me (nice work Voipkam). thanks for posting this thread and all the effort to quickly drive out a solution (temporary as it is). Having an iPhone without a calendar is hassle. Thanks again...

I went to System Mechanic's SafetyNet feature and didn't have any options available to undo. Finally tried a couple of other options from this thread, and here's what worked for me (and worked on my wife's laptop too):

Through "Control Panel/Uninstall A Program" clicked on MS Office (2010 for me, 2007 for my wife), then clicked "Change." In the Office setup dialog box, I clicked "Repair." After the repair was complete, I rebooted. After the reboot, iTunes saw Outlook again and the sync works like a charm.

I have turned off all System Mechanic automated tasks until I hear back from someone on this thread that says Iolo has fixed the problem. Thanks to all for your contributions. Happy New Year!

I too have System Mechanic 10.7. I have contacted them and received what is a canned reply about setting exclusions in System Mechanic but they do not tell me what to exclude and I have not a clue. I am not in the mood to continue to execute MS Office repair and try different exclusions in System Mechanic. I don't know if a file deletion or a registry change is causing the problem. IS ANYONE FROM APPLE SUPPORT LISTENING?

I'm in the same boat - in fact I posted virtually the same question before I located this string. I've been in contact with System Mechanic, and I tried their generic "fix" - which didn't work. They then requested a copy of my set-up file logs and a system snapshot, which I sent on Friday. They're escallating the service request, but I haven't heard yet as of today (Wednesday) -- there was a major holiday in there. They're going to analyze both to see what the probelm may be.

I tried undoing the registry tweaks made by System Mechanic, which worked and allowed iTunes to see Outlook again. But the problem returns each time I let System Mechanic run. Which means, the product is useless to me.

So, is the problem an Apple one or one with iolo? Thoughts?

Hi All, what I have done is to turn off the registry repair module in Sys Mech. This has fixed one problem the link between Outlook and iTunes, however....I now have 76 registry problems....

Uh, Iolo what do we need Sys Mech for if the darn thing don't work...!!! Why does anyone using iTunes and Outlook need Sys Mech. This could mean the loss of sales to Iolo if it gets around the internet...VIRAL????

Hi to all. I thought I would update everyone. I have not heard back from anyone at Iolo support regarding System Mechanic. I posted a detail message.

I would encourage anyone who owns System Mechanic to post a note at Iolo support (with a link to this Apple Community post). This will accomplish two things. First it will put some additional pressure on System Mechanic product managers. Second, it will increase the Google search ranking for anyone else who might be Googling the same problem. In short, we need to shine some more light on this issue.

From my perspective, this is a System Mechanic issue and nothing to do with iTunes. From my perspective System Mechanic is turned off unitl this issue is resolves. Synching my iTunes with my productivity apps like Outlook Calendar and Address Book / Contacts is far more important.

Thanks to voipkam's original post I have sorted out my issue but it leaves me not wanting to use system Mechanic until they can sort out the conflict with the latest update. I have contacted them with a link to these posts and await an answer.

If they don't manage to fix the issue, I will be requesting a refund (2years paid in advance) as I can no longer use their product and have been using it for the last 18 months with m same set up.

Will keep you posted!
