iTunes 10.5.2.11 doesn't recognize Outlook 2010

I have a PC running Windows 7 (64-bit) with iTunes 10.5.2.11 and it is not recognizing Outlook 2010 as an application for calendar, contacts & notes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all Apple applications (iTunes, Bonjour, QuickTime, Mobile Device Support, Software Update, etc). When I attach my iPod Touch 3G, the "Info" tab in iTunes does not list Outlook as an available application to sync contacts or calendars. In the calendars section, it simply says "No supported calendar application can be found." Help!!!

Windows 7

Hi,

Like most users who have written here, I have been trying to sort this issue for the past few weeks after resetting my iphone once. iTunes completely stopped even showing the outlook calendar in the info tab even after switching off icloud calendar sync.

I tried all possible suggestion in the posts under this discussion. Uninstalling Itunes and ensuring all traces of itunes or any Apple files are deleted from my windows PC. After re-installing again, itunes still did not recognize or show the outlook calendar to sync.

Since this is my work PC, I needed the outlook calendar to sync with my phone along with my personal calendar (icloud). I even diagnosed the Outlook and MS softwares and repaired it which did not help.

Finally, just by chance when exploring further I noticed under Outlook > File > Options > Add-Ins, the iTunesOutlookAddIn.dll was showing under "Inactive Application Add-in" instead of "Active Application Add-ins". Under the same tab, there was an option to manage "COM add-ins". When i click "Go" here, it opened a window with all the add-ins listed and checkboxes to activate them. Under this the iTunes Outlook Addin was not checkied. After checking this, and clicking ok, I restarted the outlook. Now when i run itunes to sync the phone, the calendar appeared back in the info tab and it synched with my iphone. Once the sync was done, I went into the iphone settings and switched on the icloud calendar sync as well and this did not uncheck the outlook calendar sync automatically. Now i have both calendars synched on my iphone, the ideal state I wanted.

I am not sure what made the add-in inactive in the first place but it looks like new itunes version does not really lack this feature. I hope this helps the rest of you guys who are encountering this issue still.

My PC is running 32 bit windows 7 with outlook 2010.

Cheers!
