Can anybody point me in the right direction to explain what the various cloud symbols mean?
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)
Here:iCloud Symbols
Today I had the same problem Denny did.
All I did was:
1-go to iTunes store and signed out
2-signed back in
3-then I had to turn on iTunes match again, wait while it did its thing and everything is fine now.
Hi I Have ineligable clouds for songs which are 2.2 mb bit rate of 128kbps
I had contacted apple and it was suggetsed to convert files to have a bit rate of 128 from 88.
I used switch .. and it seems to have worked however these still apear ineligable to the cloud man in the sky
Can you help??
Just double click on the cloud icon and it will stop.
Sure, it will disappear when you click it.
But does it mean that you have purchased these songs again from the Apple store, while I have purchased the CD in a record shop earlier ???
Thanks,
Hans
Hi Hans,
I guess the only way to verify that would be to check your iTunes account and see. But I would think not. I have been using Match since it first became available and I have never had a problem with the songs I have added to my library from my CD collection. Occaisionally Match will switch a particular version of a song because the exact one doesn't exist in iTunes but that's about it.
Is it your opinion that Match is causing unauthorized purchases from iTunes? I'm not aware of any such mechanism in Match that would cause that. If that's what's happening on your system I would think that's a major issue.
Please let us know.
Regards, Richard
Hey philfromgalway
i am having the same issue any idea yet what the moving grey lines in the cloud means
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks
Joe
it is not in the other cloud issue graph that was posted
I have the same question. I can confirm that the songs are greyed out and will not play on my authorized devices, but the songs are in my main iTunes database and are synced to the cloud.
OK, figured it out - the down arrow cloud symbol means that the song is in the cloud and can be downloaded to the device. Problem is that it is greyed out - to solve that quit iTunes and reboot (this apparently happens only when iTunes 11 is first installed). Once you reboot, all should be fine - the greyed out portion disappears and you can play the song from the cloud or download it to your device.
Still sorting through all of the features of iTunes 11 - so far liking it a lot. Visualizer is there, which I have enjoyed since the first iTunes...
I have been a mac convert for two years now and am never going back to PC
BUT this sort of thing seems to happen all the time. incomplete help files. very frustrating
why is the list of icloud symbols in the helpfile incomplete?? there seem to be several symbols that aren't included in the list. is it just me or is this one really big DUH?
I go to the helpfile to find a simple answer (one would expect) and end up just as confused. Makes one wonder if some Mac employees are slacking off or just plain incompetent.
thoughts?
