Download from iCloud button Greyed out

So I've matched/uploaded my songs to iCloud. I've got songs that I have on my laptop library but not on my Desktop library, however after matching/uploading from my desktop those songs aren't available to download. The button that says "Download from iCloud" is there, but its grayed out (can't click on it). Is there some sort of setting I have to change?

I had this problem, and what solved it was to go to the "Purchased" area on the left sidebar under the "Store" category... then select "Download Previous Purchases," and navigate to the song(s) you wish to download and hit that download button.

I found that items that had an error (for me err code 3353) while downloading had the greyed out download button after restarting itunes. So, I did the above and all downloaded fine this time around.

I realize this is an old thread, but my problem is identical. I've ripped several CDs into my iTunes library - CDs that ARE available for purchase in iTunes. All of the songs from the ripped CDs have the iCloud symbol next to them. Most of them play just fine, and I can download and play them on all my devices from iCloud. Other random songs, and in two cases entire albums, cannot be played at all (except on the laptop I originally burned them to). The iClould symbol on these songs appears but is "grayed out." What can I do?
