I have been trying to do this for years, but have not been able to because Aperture does not seem to handle large scan neg files. What I mean by large files are 800mb and up. After editing they can be almost 2Gbs. Lightroom does not seem to have a problem, but Aperture just seems to choke. I have tried import single projects, and files at a time, but no go. Lightroom 4 Beta has just come out, so I wonder if I should even worry.
Nope don't worry, stay with the software that fulfills your needs.
Is there some reason you want to switch? Or are you just having a good time telling everyone how much better lightroom is?
I like the tighter intergration of Aperture to the Mac OS, email, web design, book printing, etc.. The main reason I have not switched, is the choking issue on what I call large files, 1.5Gb or greater.
As for harassing people about software and OS, that was my Unix/Linux days. No longer have to with Mac being a nix system.
THANK YOU! Due to your program, I have once again attempting to make full use of Aperture. There is a bit of a learning curve, but, with your program, I can do what I need to do. Once again, Thank you for the brilliant program.

BTW, I'm not and Apple hater. I'm an Apple fanboy all the way. I used Aperture exclusively until about a month ago. I did alot of reserach and think LR can do what I need better. It may be opposite answer for you. Read about the differences.
