motorola SLVR

My son got the SLVR without itunes. We were told that in order to get the phone to play songs from the computer they had to be in mp3 format. Is this so? Is there any way to reformat itunes from the acc format to the mp3 format on my computer.?????????

yeah i just bought my new SLVR from cingular and it has iTunes, and i have iTunes already installed on my computer, but when i plug my phone in the iTunes does not find it...what can i do?
