Mail won't send

Been trying to make sense of the reasons why my mail will not send - and i'm a bit confused!

Keep getting that good old message "The SMTP server “mail.xxxxx.com” rejected the password for user “xxxxxx” in 'Mail', which I am attempting to use.

I have also tried using Entourage, but again my mail will not send. The message here is "my SMPT authorisation failed". I can recieve mail but not send.

My mail account is with BT Internet. Is this a problem with them or with my computer?

Hi Josh,

I am having the same problem. Did you figure it out? Mine was working fine at home and now that I am trying to send from hotels I am staying at, I am getting the same message of: Cannot send message using the server smtp.mac.com. And on the drop down menu, of "send message using" it doesn't give me another option.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Melony
