iweb replacement?

I'm now trying the Adobe beta product they're calling Muse (code name). It's very close to the drag and drop iweb experience, and the pages are looking good.

What is aggravating is that when the product does ship, you won't be able to buy it... only pay a monthly or annual fee to "subscribe" to it. Probably will be a dealbreaker for me.

Have already burned through trials of Sandvox, Weebly, WebAccapella (which was not terrible), RapidWeaver and a couple of other also-rans with no true success yet.

I've tried iWeb publishing to a folder then uploading to my domain with spotty results, and the publish to FTP simply does not work for me because my ISP cannot read the password iWeb is sending.

I still hold out hope that Apple might choose to license the sale of iWeb to a third party, or itself offer some new/improved version before this summer. The product does after all have a built-in customer base of thousands like us who were plunking down a hundred bucks a year (plus the cost of iLife) to maintain iWebsites.

Hi everyone, I actually have a similar question concerning iWeb but it's a bit different. My wife and I host a podcast and currently use iWeb to build/maintain/upload new episodes, and host the site on a DreamHost server. iWeb has been perfect for our podcast home, and on our website we have several pages including the podcast page, photos, links, videos, etc. Since iWeb isn't going to be supported for the most part for much longer, and the fact that iWeb sights aren't very easily searchable in the internet, we need to find something that can meet our needs. I'm not a person who can code a website at all. I need a WYSIWYG sight that's very easy to use, yet powerful. I've tried Sandvox (not very good at all), Rapid Weaver (not very intuitive AT ALL), Freeway Express (their own tech support can't seem to figure out if I can put my podcast feed there for iTunes to find, so, I have little confidence in them), I've looked at Rage and it's not very easy either, nor is Flux. My current site is http://www.talescast.com and this is what I'd like to duplicate (although I am open to making it much nicer), and also would love ease of podcast episode uploads/updates. Can anyone help or maybe suggest something? Thanks!! Al

Hey RRoll,

You said you had trouble uploading to your webhost via FTP. I would recomend using KISSr as a webhost instead. KISSr allows you to host websites out of your Dropbox. All you have to do is publish your site to a Dropbox folder and KISSr handles the rest! Also, since its built on top of the Amazon cloud platform its rocksolid and blazingly fast.

Note: I created KISSr. I think its pretty awsome but would love any feedback on how I can make it even more awsome. Thanks!
