Hi all,
working with the iPad for a couple of month now, I have to conclude, that it is useless for me as far as my photographic workflow is concerned. That is a pitty, because it has so much potential, but no software that would bring it all together in one simple to use application. And it is sad, because it would certainly not take much at all to implement a few badly needed features in camera roll.
I also tried to put my portfolio on the iPad, but that is also a task, that I would have never thought to be such a problem. I bought and tried out just about any application, that would be useful for photo presentation, but there is not one single app, that can do all the few basic things, that I need it to do, which are:
- transfer photos directly from Mac to iPad into application
- put them in different categories
- be able to sort them in the order I want them without having to rename every single photo in ascending filename order
- display them as a slideshow or be able to manually flip through them in full screen mode without any tool bars or other distracting symbols
I have spend two days fiddeling around with about 10 apps, that were supposed to be great for that kind of purpose, but my conclusion is so far, that I have to learn cocoa and programm my own app, if I want all those feartures united in one software.
I really hope, that iOS 7 will unleash more potential for photographic purposes, because it could be such a powerful tool, if you did not have to take 5 cumbersome detour steps to get one thing done.
my2cents so far as photo workflow is concerned.
