How can I just import my jpeg (not raw) to my iPad?

Hi,

I using my iPad to download my photos (from canon 5d mark II) to show to the client.

However I'd like to download only the jpeg and not the Raw (useless for me on iPad)

Someone know how can I do?

Thanks,

Julien

I found only one easy way for travelling but it requires a laptop computer.

1. Put your SD card into laptop, open folder view and create a new folder (RAW for example) in the root of SD card so you will have DCIM folder and RAW folder.

2. Go to DCIM folder and subfolders where you have your RAW and JPEG files and sort them by type - I have /DCIM/100CANON

3. Select all RAW files (for Canon .CR2) and CUT/PASTE them into /RAW. It is really quick because files are not copied - just linked to a new folder.

4. Use iPad camera connection kit to import photos - quick and easy :-)

p.s. when I get back home I just move the RAW files back into /DCIM/100CANON folder and import everything into Lightroom.

Cheers,

Alex

Just got a new ipad.... Holy crap apple. Under the covers Apple is a mess. Mainly the lack of any options and no file browser on iPad. iTunes, don't even get me going. I read this article and tried several things to get rid of the raw files.

I'm Importing with the USB connection kit to an ipad air on ios7. Nikon Raw and jpg files on the camera. If photostream is on I get a jpg only slight resized into photostream and a raw and jpg into the import folder. Almost okay, but not good enough.

I bought the full version of FileBrowser and I think I have a workflow for somewhat large quantities. Import with photostream off. In filebrowser make a copy of only the jpg files (use the select list to do it to large numbers). Once a local copy is in filebrowser, copy those to your camera role. Then delete the imported file in my photos from the imported folder. Delete the extras from file browser. Turn photostream back on. Royal pain in the ars....

That will work for vacation, but for studio work I'm thinking camer ranger or an eye-fi.

The only way I do it:

1) Connect your iPad via usb to your MacBook;

2) Start up app "preview";

3) go to file --> import from iPad;

4) you will see a full list of all your photos, raw and jpeg separated from each other, so now you can just delete all raw files (you can sort by kind);

5) Now you can use import in app photos as usual and you will get jpeg only.

How can I just import my jpeg (not raw) to my iPad?
