Convert UPPERCASE to lowercase in Pages

FYI:

I had to do the above and did a search in this discussion. I found a few threads from 2009 dealing with this. Most of them recomended downloading "Wordservice" and using it under Pages > Services. I did not have time to try that but I assume it still works.

But if you are in a hurry, I discovered a web based solution. I figured I would post it in case someone else runs into the same problem. (I couldn't add it to the original discussions because they are archived).

There is a converter site which allows you to so that easily:

http://www.convertcase.net/

This is in case the basic Format > Font > Capitalization does not work of course.

(I don't know who runs that site and have no affiliation with it but it worked for me.)

That would track the change pretty closely, Jeff. Not present in Text Edit 1.5 (shipped with Leopard) and earlier; present in 1.6.

I also have it in TextEdit on Snow Leopard & I, too, never knew about it before this thread.

Thanks for that bit of information.

I don't use TextEdit much these day, but that's really good to know to at least patch the absence of the feature in Pages.

Let's hope Apple adds this "magic" feature to Pages whichever decade they choose to update Pages in. 🙂

I just added the "Lowercase", "Initial Caps of Words" and "Initial Caps of Sentences" Services.

Syestem Preferences>Keyboard>Keyboard Shortcuts>Services.

In Pages, select text and go to Pages menu>Services.

There does not appear to be an "Uppercase" command.

Go to Edit:Transformations:Make Upper Case

Today the latest Pages is version 5. Pages 5 has lost over 100 features that Pages 09 (4.x) has. That information has to be given too.

That is good, but most people seems to think that all the versions are the same and get frustrated when they can't find the feature or if it works in another way. So just be more specific in the information and everyone will be happier.

How is your job at Google? Hope all is well..... Pages works beautifully including this Uppercase function. They did not loose functions, just reorganised.
