'No Limit' option under Mail Days to Sync disappeared

I'm running iOS 5.0.1 on both my iPad 2 and iPhone 4 and recently the 'No Limit' option under mail Days to Sync has disappeared the only options are 1 Day, 3 Days, 1 Week and 2 Weeks.

This is obviously limiting my ability to access emails older than two weeks. I can't find information regarding the loss of this feature - does anyone know what happened to it?

Very happy this workaround continues to benefit others. I know how critical it is to have access to your entire mailbox. As much of a pain as it is, I do highly recommend the upgrade to the 2010 exchange server. I am surprised Go Daddy has not migrated all users because it is a rreal pain to do it on your own. The reults though are worth it. It fucnctions better overall and there is no limit to workaround ever. Why they put this limit on 2007 server and continue to leave it that way is a mystery - a mystery to the people working at Go Daddy support too I'm sure.

"The only way to then change it back is the previously mentioned suggestions... Up to and including deleting and re-adding the exchange account."

Thats not entirely true.....

On my imap accounts i use the following shortcut :

turn off ssl on the IMAP account.

Save the changes

go 1 step back in the settings menu

select the IMAP account again

The no limit option will now be available

select this option and turn ssl on.

We have the same issue with Zimbra email server ver 8 on iPad and iPhone. It uses the exchange mail account type built into iOS so my conclusion is it in not exchange server but the iOS client driver with the bug in it.

The workaround is similar to atomicvariable's:

Ignore use ssl, this is a red herring and makes no difference.

Turn off all synchs for the mail account.

Choose yes to any questions about deleting items in the phone/pad. They come back (ie are resynched) after the last step below.

Then no-limit reappears in the selection list.

Select it

Toggle back on whatever you want to sync.

Presto, everything reappears back to day 1. Obviously don't select the now blank mail days to synch item, otherwise you'll get trapped again and will have to repeat the above mini-procedure.

I deleted my Exchange account on my iPhone 4S ios 7.02, and was able to choose no limit again on the mail sync. However after completing the setup and going back in again, the no limit option is gone again, but nothing is selected, so no limit is still in effect as long as i do not select any of the other options. Haven't tried the other suggestions mentioned here, as this works so far.
