iTunes could not backup iPhone because the iPhone disconnected

I've tried seaching for an answer for this problem and can't find one that works. I've tried the basics and even restored my iPhone 4S (and restarted it). Yet, I still keep getting the above message every time I try to back up even though my iPhone is hardwired to my laptop. Any other ideas out there to solve this one?

Thanks!

Well, finally I decided that the solution is restore my iPhone, because all that I have tried, failed.

In view that I can sync apps or music without problems, what's your advise to restore the contacts, pictures and other after restoring iphone?. What I have to do?

Contacts: Set up to sync contacts either with iCloud or with an app on your computer. Then you are not dependent on the backup, plus, you can add and edit contents on iCloud, your computer, or the iPhone and they will sync.

To restore camera roll, is possible to copy the images in a hard drive, restore the iphone, and after this copy the pictures to the iphone, or I have to sync with the PC by means iTunes, and after restoration of iPhone try to sync with iTunes?

Copy the camera roll to your computer, or sync to Photo Stream. If you connect the phone to your computer with its USB cable your camera roll will appear as a digital camera; just copy the images using whatever program you use for your camera.

You cannot put the pictures back into the camera roll, but you can sync them to the photo app on your iPhone by connecting the phone to your computer and clicking on the Photo tab in the iPhone settings screen.

I don't know how much more help I can be. Is the phone showing that it is charging when it is connected? Have you tried disconnecting all other USB devices when syncing?

You already tried changing the name of the backup folder as I recall. Can you try a different computer? To do this first go to iTunes Preferences, Devices tab, and check the box to prevent syncing automatically. Then connect the phone, right click on it in the left column and choose "Back up" (iTunes 10), or click the iPhone button, then Backup (iTunes 11). This will only create a backup, not a sync.

Also, have you tried backing up to iCloud? (You might have answered this, but I don't recall).
