Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Hi,
I have a 15" MBP and recently a red light has appeared in the headphone jack. This red light coincides with the loss of audio from internal speakers. I've tried pulling a haedphone minplug in and out to no avail. Red light = NO AUDIO. Any help is greatly appreciated.
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7), MBP 13.3 2.7 GHZ 8GB i7
The fix is very simple -.-
Plug the earphone back in, then while pressing and holding one of the volume buttons you plug out the earphone.

Blowing into the headphone jack helped but the sound kept tripping on and off then i twisted some paper in the shape of a toothpick and stuck it in there, twisted it around, in and out then voila! The sound was back! Hope it stays this way, last time I went to the Apple store I was told they cannot do anything for my laptop bcos it is 5 years old, Apple no longer stock its parts, sadly. I thought that was silly but thats a story for another day! lol

THIS GUY IS A GENIUS ! I TRIED EVERYTHING, UNPLUG THE BATTERY, DIASSEMBLE THE WHOLE LAPTOP, BLOWING AIR INTO THE PORT, TOOTHPICKING AND NOTHING WORKED. I PLUGGED AND UNPLUGGED THE JACK IN MY LAPTOP A FEW TIMES AND IT CAME BACK TO LIFE. THANK YOU SO MUCH !

I tried so many things, I can't believe that this little thing worked. Genius!
No matter what I didn't I couldn't get it working, do anybody in the same shoes, buy an USB audio device , plug it in, bam!! Sound once again!!
Blowing the jack hole for like 1min worked but went dead again and inhad to blow again it came back. I hipe inwont have to keep doing that subsequently but it worked.
Blowing air into the port worked for me as well!😁
