How to turn off automatic keyframing in motion 5.0.2?

Hello,

I've just updated to Motion 5.0.2 and now, everytime I move an object, all the parameters (scale, position, rotation) start to create keyframes, while most of the time I don't want that (that's why you turn on the recorder, right?). Is there a way to turn that off again? It's very frustrating.

Kind regards, Pepijn

Ha, Adam, for some reason I had a love affair with Motion 4, and 5 has always never seemed as fluid to use. Even the interface changes seemed arbitrary and not improvements. Silly things like the Search/Magnifying glass being all the way down at the bottom of the window, is just not convenient relative to it being up at the top as in 4. I've got big mental list of the things 4 were better with but it could just be familiarity!

Anyway, the solution to this keyframing annoyance seems, is to put the animated object into a new group folder... you can then adjust the group folder position, scale, etc, and it will NOT generate new keyframes, nor will it affect the keyframes of the object inside it... for now, this is the work around, but a toggle, would be the most elegant solution (from Apple).

as a workaround its fine, except when you have say hundreds of object that then have to be in their own layers. Getting to the parameters of th objects is not just a click away, its a click of a disclosure triangle, then a click of an object. All that clicking can add up.

oh and another thing that really annoys me, if I click on the top of the timeline, left and right arrows move the playhead forwards and backwards, as expected, as it is in almost every other program, but if I've clicked on something else they suddenly start opening and closing layers. These keyframes should be separated.

Whilst were on that subject would it kill them to unify the key commands between FCPX and motion.

Just upgraded to Yosemite and Motion 5 so I'll jump in as well and say this is driving me nuts! My workflow has decreased dramatically.

I am using the layer workaround but another problem with that is when I use .ai files so there's no loss of resolution when scaling.
Now when I put that .ai file in a group it loses that ability! I see there's an update to 5.2. Couldn't see where it had been fixed in the list so haven't downloaded. Any change?
