CUI CUI CUI error 10.7.3 all apps crashes

Ditto. Hosed my Macbook Pro i5 2010 15".

running off my backup drive to try and reinstall the update from download instead of through software update.

Total Garbage. I have a lot of photos to run through for Sports this evening. Total Crap.

Yep - restoring from TM 10.7.2. Have downloaded the combo update to try again later.

Same here on 2011 MBP. I miss Steve Jobs :-( First time since 2001 (moved to Mac in 2001) I am seeing such an update 😟

APPLE, this is a serious problem, fix this ASAP!!!

I just updated my MacBook Air, latest edition, to 10.7.3 and immediately, none of my apps work after installing. The only apps I found working is iCal so far and the update checking process seems fine.

I can't use safari, finder or even system properties. I dont want to restore my system. Who's going to pay for my time lost? So I expect a quick emergency update to fix this.

I have the exact same error. 2011 15" MacBook Pro. Trying a reinstall from a Lion Restore Disk now. If it fails, I'll use my last 10.7.2 TM backup.

FOLKS I have fixed mine...it went fast because I have fiber and well, SSD rocks.

Ok, I booted into my old drive with 10.7.2. via USB

I downloaded the COMBO update via http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1484

I installed the combo and ran Disk Utilty a couple times to make sure nothing obvious was broken or permissions sticky bit was whacked out.

Boots up into 10.7.3 fine.

If I had to guess, I'd say the installer is either got a bad pack for Macbooks here (judging by the comments) or it is quitting prematurely and rebooting before the update is fully completed - which has happened with Snow Leopard in the past on some of my machines.

I'm out of here, I have a Sh*t ton of photo this evening.

Do you have a screenshot of the CUI error? If so, could you post it? I would like to include it in an article I am wriring about this matter...if that's okay. Thanks!

Just updated half a dozen MBP's ranging in age from 2007 to 2010. Used the combo udate on 3 and incremental update on the other 3. Also updated a server OS. No problems to report at all.

Now have to go update 40 more users in the bulding. Feeling brave and confident that all will be fine. If not, all my users are runnig CrashPlan, which btw is godsent.

The same problem here on Mac Pro (2,1). The same update went fine on my Mac mini. Now I am restoring from Time Machine and I'll try with the Combo Updater.

I am sorry for the users without backup, Apple should check updates like this with more care. This is the first time since 10.0 beta that I have problem with an update.

I was bitten with this one as well on my MacBook Pro. Trying to download the combo and boot into target disk mode.

Please tell me how do you install the combo pack?
