CUI CUI CUI error 10.7.3 all apps crashes

I updated from Apple software update on mid-2011 iMac within hours of the initial release and have had no problems. Phew.

Every thing hosed on my MB Pro. I am at work and cant restore. This freakin *****............... I knew when Jobs passed, somebody would freak Apple up.

Tom, Never needed to do that before all updates have been no brainers.

Same exact thing happened to my i5 MBA however my i7 iMac updated fine. Restored the air and installe the update fine. Still annoying.

Have you got FileVault installed on the Disk?

you may need to authenticate the disk first in order to get the disk to work.

You'll have to select the actual partition, not the disk from the left side.

repair disk permissions is reporting a bunch of issues i cant type fast enough to list them all still running.

Well, lesson learned. if your in Disk Utility, what are you trying to do?

Disk Utility Permissions issues mean nothing. What are you trying to do? Be specific!

The point is be specific. He said his system is hosed but he can access DU. You can run DU a hundred time and still show premissions issues.

What is the Problem you are trying to solve? DU can solve some issues but not all. What are you trying to do?

Anyone been brave enough to try this?

Nothing new here. This is why I recommend cloned external backups. Target disk mode is another example of this.

AS I SAID PLAINLY--I WOULDN'T USE SOFTWARE UPDATE.

I simply wondered if this has been fixed or not. That's all. What's your problem?

Well i just decided to do the lion reinstall. ....hope it works.

Couldn't get to the web on the MBP anyway.
