10.7.3 Breaks Network Connectivity iMac?

Out of curiosity, how did you install Lion? I believe these issues are isolated to people who initially installed Lion on their system using one of the earlier 10.7.2 betas. I don't think anyone using only "GM" releases is affected.

I'm fairly certain it wasn't a beta version. I was running the beta version of Lion in early 2011 (through the Apple Developer Program Beta), but I know I've formatted and reinstalled Lion a few times since the official app store version came out in Nov 2011 (the luxury of having a dual internal Intel SSD drives).

Is there a way to tell if I'm running the beta version... shouldn't it say beta somewhere??? This is what I see in the about:

Processor 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB

Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50b)

You can check the version you are running by running 'sw_vers', but it doesn't say "beta" or anything like that.

Can you run this? It should reveal what version of Lion you upgraded with:

bzcat /var/log/install.log*bz2 | grep 'Running OS Build'

Allthoug I could find the exact piece of XML code he refers to in the post, so I copied my authorozation file from a MacBook Pro which worked fine after 10.7.3 install and overwrote the file on my MacMini which wasn't working.

Just started a huge campaign at uni, DESPERATE for internet. Even paid for a tethering package on my phone, to find that I was getting the 169... IP address from that too!!

Not cool, Apple.

Had a phone call from Apple who couldnt fix it and advised me to go get it looked at in the Apple Store tomorrow - not sure if I should bother now after hearing your experiences... doesn't seem that Apple are recognising this as an issue!

I toggled the Firewall to 'on'... which sorted my connection instantly... although I'm pretty sure my firewall was off in the first place - as it pesters me with authorisation every 5 minutes... but seems to be working at present.

Hopefully an update will be released soon enough to fix this!

Have you checked your DNS settings? For me, it is often where the problem is when I can connect to the router, but not to the Internet.
