Go to www.icloud.com, select Calendar.Preferences.Advanced and change invitations from In-App to Email
I tried editing the database using Datum.app (see earlier post) and it both removed the event from my calendar and removed the notification. Sadly, the tricky spammers just extended the invite to cover another day and that sent it back in to my calendar again. Hopefully, changing the invitations setting from 'in-app' to 'email' will work.
So far, this solution appears to be the only one that works (as posted earlier on this thread by someone else):
I hope that changing the Calendar.Preferences.Advanced preference from "in-app" to "email" will stop the unwanted invites from showing up.
thanks @xflier! Your answer was awesome
Please explain this differently. Does it mean on dates in emails will go into Calendar?
You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is a couple of years old, less people are likely to look at it. A new post would be much more visible. You can link to this one.
And now there's a partial fix, with a hint of more to come.
Works perfectly!
With me, it started with High Sierra.
