My MacBook Pro crashed and won't restart

Today I was watching a movie on iTunes when the screen froze. I tried force quitting iTunes but it wouldn't react to control+command+del. When everything on the screen froze and remained that way, I shut down the computer by holding down the power. When I later tried to restart it would start making this screetching sound ending with a click and then go silent again. After some time a picture of a folder with a question mark would appear on the otherwise blank screen. Finally the computer would shut down by it self after some 30 minutes or so. Please help!

Much appreciated.

Thanks for all of your replies. I was not able to reboot so I took it to Apple store were they replaced my hardrive for about $200. Late at home I plugged in my old hard drive to my Macbook Pro using a SATA to USB cable to try to recover some of the data on it but the computer won't even recognize the external hard drive. The hard drive just keeps making the clicking sound which I guess tells me that it is beyond recovery? I then tried restoring from my last Time Machine back up but it gives me the "wrong case sensitivity" message. I guess to solve this problem I would have to reformat my internal hard drive which I have hesitate to do since I would then have to reinstall all my apps all over again😕
