cant use my triton as external midi instrument

hi!

I have a problem with my setup. I have a Imac, korg triton LE, apogee duet2. my korg is hooked up to the mac with a usb/midi cable and to the duet with a jack 1/4. the problem is that I can use my triton as a midi controller to the logic instruments, I can also record some audio track with the triton but I CANT use it as an external midi. I looked a bunch of forums, tutorials, etc but I cant make it work properly. help anyone? thanks

It's just that the Triton sounds are based mainly on Samples, digital recordings. These are proprietary and under copyright protection.

What you're asking is very complex in terms of recreation, Logic has a lot of built in synthesizers but none that can automatically recreate the Korg's sounds, not only is the Korg using samples but it also has a complex effects section and synthesizer like controls to manipulate the samples... all of this is what goes into a single Korg sound, a lot of programming. MIDI information carries nothing about the sounds... it's only carries data from the physical keyboard (a performance) . That's why a MIDI track can play any instrument, a MIDI recording of a Bach prelude and play a drumset. It's only data from the keyboard performance.
