Smooth Panning on Final Cut Pro?

Hi there. This should be easy ... but, I'm not having any luck.

I have a fairly wide image loaded into Final Cut Pro (7.0.3) - and I simply want to track / pan across the image using a lesser frame width.

Everything is set okay and the footage works - however - the panning movement isn't smooth.

I've set the job up again in Motion, but alas, still no joy.

I've set the job up again using movie footage and panning across and that does work smoothly, so it's got to be something about the static image.

Any ideas?

Russ / X ... tried again for the full replication of moves but unfortunately, results were exactly the same.

I'm fairly confident I'm creating the movement correctly, but whether the settings are tripping me up, well, it's anyone's guess as I can no longer spend any more time on this.

Thanks willlow - that might be an easier alternative.
