@mac.com does not exist anymore but @me is the new @mac.com
to get it you must sign up for an icloud accoutn using ipod ipad iphone imac or any other apple products but i think you can go to the www.icould.com and you sign in with your apple account i think you will be able to create a @me account

You cannot. Apple stopped allowing the creation of any xxx@mac.com accounts when the brought out mobileme. You can sign up for an iCloud account and get a xxx@me.com address, but no @mac.com.
There is no way. The only people who will continue to have and use those are those who had them already established through .Mac and, later, carried them into MobileMe memberships. Those who joined MobileMe after the changeover could not get those email addresses either.
Previous posts not quite true, if you have a xxx@icloud.com, or xxx@me.com email address, you can set up a mac email address using the same xxx etc before the @. To do this simply add xxx@mac.com to your mail program.
Sorry if I ask but I'm a little confused what you mean. I'm using mail on my Mac on iPhone, iPad. I have icloud and me email address. How do I add .mac adress and where? I tried to sent from another email I own to the same xxx which I have for .me and .icloud but gets returned as undeliverable. Could you explain? Thanks!
I added the email address to my Mac Book Pro Mail program by File> Add Account> (presumably the same as going into settings> Mail, Contacts, Calenders> Add Account on an IPad), and filled in the 2 boxes as follows: Where my exsisting icloud mail address was eg abc123@icloud.com, I put abc123@mac.com and used my exsisting password. The computer then set everything up automatically, which has been verified by the email program. The bad news is that when I try to send an email it will not send or recieve, so unfortunatley the other guys may be right. Sorry could'nt be more help.
