iTunes match uploads causes crash

I recently purchased itunes match. I have a mere 6000 songs. 2000 of which were not on itunes and needed uploading. This uploading was interupted a couple of times towards the end of the process and now crashes iTunes everytime imatch gets to the point where it starts to upload songs (at the end of step 2 'matching your music with songs in the itunes store'). A report appears to send to apple.

Crashed Thread: 31

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)

Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x00000001170ce000

I have no firewall or internet accelorater. I have reloaded iTunes but it still crashes. Can anyone help?

Thanks for saying that worked. I immediately tried it, as I was having the same problem. I pressed the 'Reset' button in the preferences/Library/organize dialog, it seemed to do a complete organize scan. I then turned on Match and the same crash happened. So it didn't fix it for me. It has been this way for about a year.

Does anyone know how to see what songs it is crashing on? I have about 11781 and it crashes at about 11762. So I can do some trouble shooting on those.

Thank you,

My iTunes match has been crashing on step 3 for about 4 months.

After reading the discussion in this thread about long/large music files, I realized that the crashing started right around the time I had added 3 new tracks that are about 1 hr and 15 min each, and initially successfully uploaded them to iCloud.

At some point soon after that successful 3-step process, iTunes match was turned off and back on and needed to repeat the 3 steps in complete detail. That's when the crashing started.

I can see now that the problem was that at least one of those three tracks was causing the crash. I just removed them from my library a couple of minutes ago and tried for the 6th time today to get iTunes match to complete the 3rd step (and about the hundredth time since December). It finally worked.

Of course I would like to find a way to make these tracks available in iCloud again.

Has anyone seen any info out there on why this happens, and how to make it so that iTunes match gets past this crashing problem when one or more tracks exceeds a certain "acceptable" length?

What is the cutoff length (or size) for a file that when exceeded can cause a crash on step 3?

Why would iTunes match not just classify the "problem tracks" as ineligible instead of allowing them to crash the whole process after 24100+ tracks were successfully matched/uploaded?

Any insights on this? Thanks.
