SCX-4300 No Scan
I recently upgraded my system to version 10.7.3 and since then my Samsung SCX-4300 printer will not scan any documents. Does anyone know of a solution?

Thanks a brody, VERY sound advice for everyone regarding backups.
This particular "update" does need to be removed - it may be an improvement for other Samsung printer-scanners... but certainly not in the cases of the Samsung SCX-4300/4500s - as seen in this discussion group and other similar ones - many over the last 12 days.
I don't know where else to inform Apple or Samsung of this - I was looking here to Apple for support advice. Onward to Samsung...
Mazomat's archived solution does work - until then I am sure others will be waiting for a "blind" Apple update.
Well you can post here too: http://www.apple.com/support/feedback/ And post the link above to the scanner driver and mention those scanners aren't working, and any threads you find. If you are under AppleCare, also refer them to the above link.
I have the same problem too. After the update to the version 2.3, print is ok but scan isn't support.
Same problem. I noticed that on this page (which was updated Feb. 15, after the v2.3 Samsung driver update) the SCX-4300 is listed as having only printing fuctions, NO scan. Someone bungled thing up big time.
I have found and download the software version 2.2 in a website . With this version, the scan and the print are now ok!
Drummers!...which website. I have the same problem with my SCX 4300!
Thanks!
The link posted by brody is ok. We must initialize and reinstal mac os x lion 10.7.3 and then turn off automatic updates. After that install the version 2.2 and connect the printer.
Is it possible to combine this solution with brody's advice? To somehow extract the driver from this pkg and use it to replace /Library/Image Capture/Devices/Samsung Scanner.app? Because it seems a lot of work to reinstall mac os x because of this. I'm asking this because I expanded the pkg but there was no Samsung Scanner.app inside. And also, simply running the installer pkg won't work. It says it's successful and it does show up in the software update history but I can't scan anyway.
the file pkg must be installed after remove the update 2.3. If you install that before this action, the scan doesn't work because mac gets, by the first, the downloaded update. The only way that I found is initialize the device.
I did simpler: I just removed the /Library/Image Capture/Devices/Samsung Scanner.app from my Library. Then I installed the version 2.2 of Samsung Scanner.app, which I downloaded from the link here http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/PRINTER/OTHERS/Samsung-Printer-Driver-22-for-Ma c-OS.shtml
the scan works now (I have a scx 4500)
Thanks for the tip, but I have a question, How do I remove the appfrom Samsung Scanner?, Tells me that "It is in use" restart in Safemode and tells me the same. May you help me. Greetings.
You have to "force to quit" the program "Samsung Scanner". For this you go to "Activity Monitor", double click on the "samsung scanner" and then quit.
Thanx a lot, man!
Greetings!
