SCX-4300 No Scan

I recently upgraded my system to version 10.7.3 and since then my Samsung SCX-4300 printer will not scan any documents. Does anyone know of a solution?

Thanks a brody, VERY sound advice for everyone regarding backups.

This particular "update" does need to be removed - it may be an improvement for other Samsung printer-scanners... but certainly not in the cases of the Samsung SCX-4300/4500s - as seen in this discussion group and other similar ones - many over the last 12 days.

I don't know where else to inform Apple or Samsung of this - I was looking here to Apple for support advice. Onward to Samsung...

Mazomat's archived solution does work - until then I am sure others will be waiting for a "blind" Apple update.

Is it possible to combine this solution with brody's advice? To somehow extract the driver from this pkg and use it to replace /Library/Image Capture/Devices/Samsung Scanner.app? Because it seems a lot of work to reinstall mac os x because of this. I'm asking this because I expanded the pkg but there was no Samsung Scanner.app inside. And also, simply running the installer pkg won't work. It says it's successful and it does show up in the software update history but I can't scan anyway.
