Inbox keeps reloading for some users

I have a few iPhone users whose inbox keeps reloading. They can see their mail, then it disappears and starts loading the mail again. Anyone familiar with this?

We are running exchange 2010, but most users mailboxes are still on 2003.

We have # of people using iPhone in my company, and finally this happen on one of the iPhone, and it happens on my boss's iPhone...

She only use the phone to check email at night - like when she is on the train and home.

And since a week ago, it starts reloading all her email from #1, I have 2 weeks only setting for her account because she has a lot of emails.

She is on iOS 5.x, iPhone 4S with Verizon.

By the way, it is working fine when she is at the office under wifi, but not on Verizon 3G.

What I will do - upgrade it to iOS6 after I come back from the vacation and see it can solve the problem.

We are hosting our own mail server with Microsoft Exchange 2003.

I had a 3g.....never had a problem. God the 4s in November. Have had this problem ever since. I delete all messages. Then my phone alerts me I have an email. When I go to read it, all of yesterday's emails download again. I delete them. Then the same thing happens only it is the email from two days, ago......then 3 days. I have deleted the email for almost a month just to see how far it would go and I got tired of deleting it!!! There has to be an answer to this somewhere! So far, I have gotten no help. I use a pop server, Comcast. No problems before. I see, however, it isn't just a pop server, nor is it just Comcast.

Tired of it!!!!! as I get LOTS of email!!!!!

Ok, it is not hardware issue for sure:

I took a brand new iPhone 4S.

Upload the backup from iCloud, a backup from the iPhone that has the reloading annoying problem.

The new iPhone experienced the same reloading problem :-(

So for sure it is something with the settings, some kind of a bug.

I reset then my new iPhone and started to create my iPhone from scratch, didn't use no backup.

Connected to my exchange account and guess what?

No more problem!

I am using it for several days now and the issue disappeared :-)

What worked for me was to use a tool called Outlook True Archive to archive a few days of Exchange 2003 data for a user from around the time they started having trouble. Once archived, I could immediately import the archived data back in and the problem was gone on the iphone. There was a group of users who callaborated together who all had the problem at the same time. I had to repeat the archive/restore procedure for each of those mailboxes.

This problem has recently arisen in my organization. Mailbox has been reloading 1-2x/week for past 3 weeks. User has iPhone 5 and was upgraded on Friday to iOS 6.1.2. Has anyone tied this to mailbox size? Primary folders such as INBOX and SENT items have 10's of thousands of items each. Additional mailbox folders bring total mailbox size to more than 10GB.

This is happening to the head of our organization also, we are using Office365 and Active Sync. The organization head is the only one who it's happening to. Very frustrating, there doesn't seem to be a fix and he is not happy with his mailbox continually reloading. It happens to both his iPhone and his iPad. Nobody else experiences it. He does have both devices set to No Limit on mail retention, I talked him into trying 30 days on his iPhone, I told him we could always switch it back to No Limit if 30 days proved too restrictive.

Hi. I had the same problem on iPad and solved it with 2 things (not sure if both solved the problem or only one of them) :

1- changed the SIM card

2- go to Settings, General, Reset.....and press "Reset network settings".

Only inconvenient, you will have to re enter all your wifi passwords.....but at least the iPad stopped reloading emails again and again.
