Burned CD dos not play in CD player

Burned cd does not play on other players. What is the problem?
How did you burn the CD? Using iTunes?
What Disc Format did you choose when burning the CD? Audio CD must be selected for most CD players to be able to read it. MP3 CDs and Data CDs won't work.
If you are burning Audio CDs, check to see if a different brand changes anything.
Best of luck.
I had tried to remove my question, because I found the problem and corrected it. Sorry to take up anyone's time.
No need to apologize. We help out here because we enjoy helping folks.
How did the problem get fixed, if you don't mind me asking? It might help someone else to know.
I had not had problems before, but didn't pay attention when I burned this CD and accidentally must have let it default to data rather than audio format. When I appropriately set it to audio it worked just fine. Duh-hh.
Well I can tell you right now, you weren't the first to do this. And you probably won't be the last.
Enjoy your CD.
My problem is slightly different. I am able to burn a playlist in iTunes on to a CD; however it only plays the first song, or first few songs, then it completely cuts out. I de-installed and re-installed iTunes, but that didn't solve the problem. I used to be able to burn CDs all the time, with no problem, until the past few months. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Yikes. I also can burn a CD like the good old days before itunes 11. However, now the CD player takes forever to kick in to the first track -- maybe 30 seconds or more. If I advance to another track, there's the same delay. What gives? All the other CDs I've burned before still play fine on the stereo.
I adjusted the speed down to 2x but that doesn't make any difference -- or burning the CD as audio, MP3 or the third option. Ugh.
Mac wizards: is there any way out of this CD burning purgatory?
Hi Paul, for my money iTunes 11 is 42 steps backwards, but...
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
Alas, Console doesn't show any recent messages. I know some people say try another brand of CDs, but I've used this same batch before and it worked fine -- Magnavox CDR 52 x 700 MB.
The thrill of itunes, for now, is gone.
iTunes hasn't thrilled me since it took over & destroyed the App t came from, but...
Might try Burn App...
Macsters: I got a d'uh moment. I couldn't burn CDs correctly because -- the brand of CDRs I was using turned out to be a dud. Namely, Manganavox CDR 52 x 700MB.
I thought, early on, in the pack the CDs burned all right, but forgettabout it. I won't get fooled again trying to use that brand.
Rather, after buying Sony CDR music, the CD I burned actually played on the stereo, like the good old days not so long ago.
BTW, before I went out to buy new CDs, I tried one a Memorex CDR from a batch I had in the closet. The burned, CD wouldn't read on the stereo at all, but it played with a few sticky patches on the car CD player.
I had always made a point of buying CDs that had "music" in their brand name. I guess I let my guard down with the Magnavox. Hope this helps others to avoid this mistake.
Thanks to those who responded with suggestions. I appreciate it.
Thanks for the info Paul... strange thing is I have lots of coasters using Sony, & none using Memorex!?
BDQua: Yes, I now have a Sony coaster as well. All is not completely unrotten in Denmark or iTunes land.
I burned four CDs and one of them turned out to be the same kind of dud that prompted me to chime in on this discussion.
But, three out of four burned CDs that work on my stereo (with Sony CDR music) is far better than zero out of, let me figure, maybe 18 CDs burned that don't work (with the Magnavox).
🙂
BDAqua and others: Again, it's hit or miss (and now, mostly miss) with burning CDs with iTunes 11, despite buying another brand of CDRS (Sony music). Tonight, I burned 5 CDs (the same playlist) at 2x speed, yet only two copies work in my CD/stereo player.
Something wrong with iTunes 11? Something wrong with the Macpro CD burner? Or in the connections between the two. Ugh.
What a waste of time. Makes Mac look, feel and taste like a rotten apple.
