I have a similar version of the problem but it is probably not iTunes.

I just switched from the older imac (2 years) with the CD burner built in to the newest imac without a CD burner. I purchased the external superdrive and now any CD i burn at any speed, will not play on my old Bang & Olufsen CD player.

The weird part is this - I burned at all speeds down to 8x 2x and even 1x. At 1x it recognized tracks but will still not play on the B&O. That said, I then took the CD and put it in my old Mac (which read it fine) and uploaded the CD. Then using the old Mac I burned the CD at 8x speed and that played on the B&O without a problem. What has changed with the new superdrive and is there a fix?

Was using Memorex CD's for all and burned all in Audio and not data etc etc. Same version of iTunes and same CD's at same speeds and settings. Only difference is the new external superdrive.

Any ideas?

I am now having a problem burning CDs too. I have had NO trouble doing so up to now. I want to say the trouble began when my itunes upgraded itself a couple weeks ago. I burned a CD and went to play it in a fairly new TEAC CD player and it would only play first song. The CD player plays all the older CDs I made, just not the new one. I'm using memorex CDRs which I used before. I can forward to the 2nd track but after it's played, it stops again. HELP!!!! It's not the CDs and I think it's some default setting maybe, but I can't figure it out.

iMac folks: add another brand of "music" CD-R's to the do-not-buy list for burning CDs from itTunes: namely, Maxell CD-R.

I have tried to burn a playlist with 6 of these Maxwell-CD-Rs and they won't play on my CD player. The container says it will burn music, but no way. I have the itunes burner on the slowest speed and well, am I going to try to burn 43 of the CDs left in the container.

Nope. My Sony CDs worked fine, then I ran out of them and my girlfirend bought me the Maxell's. I even went back to my heft 100 disc Magnavox CD-R's. But, I gave up on them months ago because they wouldn't burn a playlist that I could play. They still don't.

So, Sony, yes.

Don't buy Maxell or Magnavox CDRs.

Ugh. Yet another iTunes automatic "upgrade" and once again I cannot play any burned CDs on my player or car. What a waste of time and money. What gives? I've tried various speed settings, including 2x and maximum. I've tried a couple of different brands of blank "music" CDs.

The player just takes forever spinnning around before the song kicks in. Click to the next song and the silent digeestion, spinning of the player contiues with no music for several minutes.

Any clue on how to fix this situation, friends in macland?
