iPod touch (4th generation)
Sorry I never told u what that was for. That is to set up syncing. Google that too there is probably millions of tutorials.
???? Sync? Confuses me. Is this stuff that happens after I press restore?
Do I need to set up syncing now or just press restore now?
Syncing should back up your music, apps etc. on your computer if not already there.
Ohh... so do I do that now?
Yes and watch or read some tutorials to under stand it more so you can make sure to get all the data.

I HAVE to do this? Cause mine doesn't do the "Sync in progress" thing... Would it be easier to just press "restore" and get my stuff back that way? I'm so tired now I'm gonna die.
I am sorry. I am going to shut it down for the night. If you want to push restore go ahead. I am not sure if it backs up your data. If it doesn't you will loose everything on there unless u have it in iTunes. Then you can drag it back over and build your iPod up again.
If you have the latest software on your iPod, you can go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Back Up Now.
A backup should DEFINITELY be done before a restore unless you want to manually reload your content.
good night.
I don't have the latest software..... I did however find a button that says "Sync Ipod" but it is grey and won't let me push it. I'm so tired I think I just might call it quits for tonight and try again tommorrow or something...
Ok in a percent how big is the risk that if I just press the restore button without doing anything extra of it not saving anything?
High.
You will have to redownload songs, apps, anything again manually.
NNNOOOOOOOOO Darn! What do I doooooo??? I can't sync and stuff sooooo..... waaaahhh .....have to remake a phone number, too? NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
What phone number? iPod touch doesn't have one.
Anyway, just go to the App Store, then Updates, then Purchased. That's how you redownload apps. There should be a similar tab in iTunes.
