Can‘t create a Windows Seven USB drive using Bootcamp

Hi! I ve been trying to create a Windows Seven bootable USB drive using the Bootcamp Assistant. I tried to create it using an ISO of my Windows DVD in order to install it on my new Mac Mini. My problem is that I get an error: Your bootable USB drive could not be created, an error occurred while copying the windows installation files. My USB drive is 8G, and I‘ve tried with a 100G external HDD too... So it‘s not a size problem. I also tried to format the drive different ways without any success... I found lots of threads relating to this problem but none of them had a solution. Any clues? Thanks in advance!

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Trying to set up a Windows partition on a new imac, with updated OS. I've done everything recommended by SpinDoctor, Danny joni and Tirath Shah but I still have the same error: the USB drive cannot be used.

I've restarted between tries.

Disk utility finds no problems with the drive. It worked perfectly when I set up a partititon on my macbook air a while back.

Is Mavericks still in beta, or are macs just flakey? I'd be really grateful for a solution.

Thanks for responding. I tried another USB stick but had same problem. Then tried downloading the latest windows support software from the Apple website (version 5) and copying it manually to the USB. Then installed windows. The USB was found and started installing, but the installation failed before completing.

" intel chipset" was the file being processed and the error was

Driver IRQL not less or equal (storahci.sys)

I followed the instructions for repairing the support software installation twice, but it fails at the same point each time.

A pain because apart from anything else the bootcamp control panel and the system tray is not installed, so one less way of getting back to the Mac.

The Windows version is 8 Pro 64-bit and the serial no. on it is X18-06126-01.

What is most likely here? That the USB was corrupt?

And is this a different problem to this thread - if so how should I re-raise it elsewhere? Sorry, I'm new to this discussion list.

I encountered this problem too. I was downloading the latest support software when my internet broke down and of course stopped the process so I had to re-do it all over again since the bootcamp assistant reformats the drive. The first time it happened, I simply reformatted my 8G USB and started up the process again, my internet yet managed to fail once again so I decided to opt out of downloading the essential drivers for now. However, when I got to the part where I restarted the process, it gave me this annoying error that we can't seem to all get rid of.

I managed to fix it though doing this:

1. Reformatting the USB from Disk Utility.

2. Restarting my system.

3. Making sure the W7 ISO file is not mounted.

I hope this helps and goodluck to you guys.
