Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

When are we going to get a sheet music program in the App Store?

I just want to make nice lead sheets, like I used to be able to do with the early versions of Sibelius. I'm done paying any more upgrade fees to Sibelius for a bunch of bloated features I have no use for. I see that they have a $99 program called Sibelius First now. If that's just like Sibelius v1, that would be great. Also, Finale has a couple of program under $100 now too. Anyone using any of them? I've bought programs in the past (like BusyCal) only to have it show up in the App Store soon after. I would like to avoid that. The point is, I've been waiting for a long time for a sheet music program to show up in the App Store and I've very surprised that we still have nothing available.

Thoughts? 🙂

Line breaks. Double bar lines. Repeats.

Of course!

From what I know, most of this composer's music (see below)is made in Logic. I don't know if all of it is, but after having had a brief look on this example, it looks as if it has been made in Logic.

One thing which makes Logic stand out as a score editor in a great way, is that it's not a standalone program, but is fully integrated with an advanced DAW - Logic. Once one exports a composed piece into a different score app, there's no decent way of getting it back to Logic with losing lots of the notation relevant (and other) stuff which already has been entered. That's IMHO not at all a good solution.

CCTM, yes, you are correct. Okay, I spent some time figuring out how you did this. The double bar lines and repeats were pretty simple. (You'd think that I would have noticed them at some point over the years.) The lines breaks are the 'paragraph' symbols. Of course, all the text styles can be saved as a new layout style. So, just one more question: how in the heck do I get those winged repeats? Here's my chart -

I was afraid when I originally posted this question that the central scrutinizers at Apple take it down for discussing 3rd party issues. Instead they left it up and you ended up proving that Logic is the only app I need. Now I don't need to buy that other program. Thanks for saving me 90 bucks! Cheers 😉
