My voice mail is not working, Verizon is blaming problem on apple, is anyone with Verizon having voice mail problems

I'm sorry, but the original setup of your voicemail is done by the carrier. Also, the next hint that it is a carrier problem is the fact that you cannot access your voicemail directly from the phone using the *86. That is done striclty through the carrier and has nothing at all to do with Apple. I have not read anywhere regarding Apple doing any type of regional migration. The last hint it has to do with the carrier is the fact that callers are getting a message that your mailbox does not exist. Again, the carrier is the one that does the original setup of your voicemail box. It has to exist on their system before you can access it either through *86 or via Visual Voicemail. I suggest you try Verizon support again on this issue. The people at the Verizon store are not technical support.

Thanks, I just couldn't figure out whether to persue Apple or Verizon for tech support. Verizon, it is. It does make me wonder though... did they make that story up just to get rid of me?

More likely the drones at the Verizon store just simply don't have a clue. Their sole purpose for existing is to sell service and collect their commission.

I upgraded to IOS6 and that's when my voicemail stopped working. AT & T says it's an Apple thing. Apple says reset my phone. Ughhh

fwiw my daughter had this same issue and removing the Neilsen app (and it installed some type of special provisioning as well) fixed it

My Siri is not communicating with my Voicemail, although my screen acces to voice mail is working. I have been having these problems fo rthe last three days eith no resolve.

Who ever told you Siri could communicate with voicemail?

My SIRI is now communicating back to voicemail for those of you having similar problems. Before you used to be able to say to SIRI, "Call Voice Mail" and SIRI would take you to directly to your voice mail......Now you have to say "Call Voice Mail, Mobile." Verizon says SIRI will no longer go directly to VoiceMail by saying "Call Voice Mail"

Why would you be calling voice mail? You have visual voice mail...

I would like to say the reason that Apple is pointing back to your carriers is because even if Apple wanted to fix it, they can't. Apple would not have access to the servers that belong to the carriers that control your voicemail. The phone is just an interface that accesses that server. The only thing Apple could help with if your phone app wasn't opening/functioning. Your carriers are to blame, it wouldn't matter what phone you had, it would still have the same problem.
