Deleting Templates in Pages.

I see you point but if you read the very first post you have the answer. You are missing that you have to in Finder click on Go in the menu while pressing Alt/Option key. Now you will get a Library option. click on in and so forth.

Than you so much for taking the time to explain "Deleting Templates" I have now successfully deleting them following your very precise instrutions.

You are very kind, thank you. Problem is I open Finder, select 'go' and following your guidance [holding down option key] click on Library.

then 2 folders appear 'quicklook' and 'Spotlight' neither contains Templates.

otherwise I have a list on the left panel in Finder which shows 'all my files' 'desktop' [house icon] 'Apps' 'Documents' 'Movies' 'Music' 'Pictures' etc and of course these don't help me to find my Templates..

I do apologise for asking questions which must seem dead simple, but there it is: no Templates.

When you click on Library do you hold down any other keys?

Thank you for all your combined help. Library did not show in my list [as it does in Peggy's image] but I found it by searching in Finder>Help

I now have the Templates, and am able to delete the unwanted ones.

Peggy, I wonder whether you can help with a further question? how to delete duplicates in the Address book? At present I am going slowly through, deleting one at a time, and it is very slow indeed, as there are a lot of contacts.

You may feel you have done more than enought already, if so, don't worry...

You need to hold down the Option/Alt key while clicking on the Go menu to get the Library to show in the drop-down menu.

As for your Address Book question, you'll get the best help in the Mail & Address Book category in the Lion forum. Search first & then post a new question if you can't find an answer.

Thanks Barry, i struggled with this until i saw your mention of the house icon. library must not automatically come up if there are multiple users. now i just need to work out how to turn the capitalisation off when i am on the internet!

Hi Simone,

OS X maintains a Library for the System itself, and one for each user account. The 'home' icon is the root level folder for the active user account, which contains the Library folder belonging to that user.

Thank you so much for adding the part about holding down the Option key. I could not find My Templates anywhere. But by adding that step I have been successful in deleting the ones I don't want. Thanks.

I can no longer get the templates to actually delete now that I have updated pages. Any suggestions?

Actually replying and making a note on as I found the answer - you now just delete each template from pages. Right click on the template and it will give you the option to rename or delete.

You mean you've upgraded to Pages to Pages 5, right?
