Hi All,
I replied to this twice, in a friendly manner. The first time with an admittedly I was slightly ironic at the manufacturer for treating this as a low priority. The second time I provided the technical solution they requested but I dare to question the removal.
I say it clearly: Whoever did the edit was totally rightous and correct in removing my post.
Now to the only "solution" to this problem that I can see so far: Either accept that Apple doesn't allow you to transfer any apps previously purchased to anyone - even if you intend to gift it and also it is impossible to setup an iPad as a shared devices, not 100% that is - as you will always have to register the product with a single Apple ID and thus Credit Card.
That is you really have only one work around solution if you go down that path... that is:
A. For transferring apps from one user to another
1. Delete your app from your account
2. Re-pruchase the app at full price under the Apple ID of your spouse/mate/brother/sister/cousin
3. If this is a gift, give him cash for the exact amount of the purchase. You could also temporarily register your credit card number with his/her Apple ID, but who would want to do that. Cash is probably the best solution to purchasing an app. It's very 19th Century, but what can I say. Maybe you can also buy a gift voucher though I doubt there is one that is exactly priced like the app you are going to buy.
4. If that person is under age, and thus cannot own a credit card by themselves, and thus cannot register with an Apple ID + Credit Card number and thus cannot purchase any App even if it was legal for an underaged to have an Apple ID: (a) setup a secondary account under your name for your underage son/daughter (b) register your credit card information (c) buy the app (d) delete your credit card information from that secondary account (as they are under age and you don't want them to purchase things at random, even if it was password protected there's still a chance they could find out the password) (e) repeat process everytime they want to buy a new level in the latest Electronic Arts or Sega game.
B. For a joint device:
1. Delete all the apps you have purchased and cut your losses
2. Setup a "joint" Bank Account with Credit Card with whoever you want to share the iPad with
3. Setup a new user account that you will share with your family
4. Re-purchase, at full price, all the apps you have already purchased
Hope this helps. If it doesn't I strongly suggest the iPad is not a product for you and you may want to look at alternatives or perhaps consider giving it away. That is ultimately what I resorted to.
Hope this gets past overzealous "editors" at the host of this forum.
