iTunes 10.6 crashing after upgrade

I just upgraded iTunes to 10.6, but it crashes everytime I open it.

I'm under Snow Leopard (10.6.8).

Thanks in advance for any suggestion or solution.

Anyone having issues after upgrading with windows saying you don't have permission to access any of the itunes install files incl. the .exe to start the **** program? Had originally 10.53 on mine now after upgrade I can't even roll back to 10.5 I have to go further back to 10.4 before it even lets me use it correctly. Confused by this completely an apple need to get their finger out an fix this crap!

Hmm very strange. It shows up there today but at *any* previous date it is not there in Time Machine. And I know it was there yesterday! This is bizarre.

Note that the first window in Time Machine is how the computer is now. It is not what is in Time Machine.

I have 5 external drives connected but only two backed up with TM. I can see and select all 5 in TM but when I select on of the drives not backed up, the windows behind the first one (the TM backups) go dark.

Go to TM prefs and see what is excluded.

I can confirm that for the specific problem where iTunes 10.6 will initially run, but crashes when photos are synced, upgrading from iPhoto '09 to iPhoto '11 fixed it for me.

The upgrade did have some side effects: it unchecked photo sync for each device, so that had to be reestablished. By default it wants to sync all photos, which would fail for lack of space, so I had to be careful to select "Events from the last N months". The initial photo sync was unreliable, but repeating it seemed to fix things. iTunes is no longer crashing, where before it would crash as soon as I plugged in my iPhone or iPod.

I have 4 macs (macbook pro, imac, and two mini-macs) all on snow leopard 10.6.8 - iTunes 10.6 crashes on them all since the update. They crash most the time on launch. When they do launch, they reliably crash when scrolling through albums, changing views, or searching. Is the general consensus that there exists no user fix for this, and our only recourse is to wait for Apple to own this problem?

Further to my previous post I've been using Logitech Squeezeplay (the latest version of the Slim Devices Squeezebox software client) to play music since the 10.6 problem occurred. It's not nearly as pretty or functional as i-Tunes but it works fine. I have two Squeezebox Radios and a Boom and I'm running Squeezebox Server on a Tonido plug which allows me to serve music to the Squeezeboxes and the software client out of my i-Tunes library on a DNS-323 file server. I was going to downgrade i-Tunes per instructions earlier in this thread, but decided against it since I have an alternate solution.
