Sorry matti, not for me....
Not sure that support are getting the issue.... I doubt if something as simple as resetting the PRAM would solve such a widespread issue given Apple's own info on the contents of PRAM

Sorry!!
My wife is running 10.7.3 on a MacBook. I installed iTunes 10.6 and she had the crashing problem while trying to sync her iPhone. I read a lot of the reports here and tried a few things that didn't work. What worked was simply moving iPhoto 2009 to the trash. She never uses the app (I think it's evil the way it makes copies of photos and you don't know where they are...) so she'll never miss it.
Interesting, JoelDi. I use iPhoto '09, so trashing that is not an option.
My iMac us running 10.7.3, iTunes 10.6, and iPhoto '09. When I plug in either an iPad2 or iPhone4GS, it runs through a sync of AppleTV, music, but when it gets to Photos - it crashes at that step, when I have iPhoto open. When I try close iPhoto to do a hard sync, it crashes at step 1.
Last 24 hours this has happened a dozen times.
I'm on 10.6.8 and can seem to open itunes and play music, however the trouble happens when I attempt to load the podcast menu. It makes it to the landing page sometimes and crashes every other time.
Based on this discussion it would seem that this isn't a user or configuration error, but a flaw in the update. Hopefully Apple jumps on this problem soon.
Didn't work for me, either. As soon as I clicked on my iPod in the left-hand list, iTunes crashed -- same thing that's been happening.
This is very frustrating. I would like to sync up my iPod.
I made several changes in the last week and I have not experienced the crashing problems that others report. Because I was transitioning from Mobile Me to iCloud I needed to be on Lion so I upgraded from Snow Leopard 10.6.8 to Lion 10.7.3. I cannot remember the sequence but at some point I received a pop up notification regarding the need to upgrade my version of iPhoto from 09 to 11 and I did so. I mention this because several others have mentioned iPhoto issues. I then upgraded to iTunes 10.6.
The only issue I have experienced is a small anomaly in iTunes Cover Flow. I typically like to dispay the artwork in Cover Flow full screen mode. With 10.6 the Cover Flow view reverts back to standard view (with the iTunes header, side bar and footer visible) from full view after it changes to the next song. This is actually what brought me here to look for this issue and I came across this thread.
I would mention that I have begun several versions ago to download iTunes updates from directly from the iTunes site versus using the software update tool as I had problems with the installs locking up.
I really wonder if iPhoto comes into play. The one thing I haven't done since these changes is synch my devices which I will have to do at some point but now I am hesitant after reading many of these posts.
Did you ever see any notification about upgrading iPhoto from 09 to 11? I did when I first did the updates/upgrades I noticed and as stated so far I have not experienced the crashing issue.
Are other people who have iPhoto 11 experiencing the crashes?
You are apparently right on with your assumption that it involves iPhoto '09.
I just found the following fix: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3800049?answerId=17840626022#17840626022
Worked for me ... now just waiting for Apple to make the appropriate bug fixes.
Ive been working with a similar issue and finally call tech support:
I just redownloaded itunes. Click on the installer and finish install. But before opening the new itunes drag itunes off your dock and drag the new itunes from the application folder onto the dock. Apparently that forces the Mac to use the new files and overcome any corrupted files.
I am having the same issue(s).
I am running OS X 10.7.3 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
After my updated iTunes to version 10.6 I get nothing but consistent crashes.
Seems to be getting stuck during iTunes Match process.
My frustration level is through the roof. I have reinstalled a number of times. Checked my hard drives. restarted in safe mode. Nothing works
I tried rebuilding my iTunes library by moving the XML file to the desktop, trashing the itl file, and importing from the XML file on the desktop. Still crashing...hopefully there will be an official fix from Apple soon.
It seems a lot of peopple are having this issue. Mine has been crashing since the update so I guess that's where the prohlem lies. Sometimes it works for several hours and then I can be doing something like resizing the window and that will cause it to crash. Or it just crashes when I play a song. Essentilaly it is very unstable.
I've tried the iPhoto method and the reinstall iTunes and remove from the dock method but it has made no difference.
So do we just wait for Apple to release another update to fix this? Or is it worth completely uninstalling iTunes 10.6 and go back to iTunes 10.5.3.? You can download it here - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1426
(But I am not sure if that loses all your playlists and the like).
Either way it looks like we just have to wait for Apple to finally get it's shoddy act together.
Please see my post above: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3786818?answerId=17869353022#17869353022
It worked not just for me, but for several others as well.
Update on my "Fix". After iTunes syncing in the AM, then trying it that evening, it started crashing again. Several hours were spent witha senior Apple tech, no fix was acheived. We recorded my crash data and it is being sent to their engineers for info and help. No response since, so I am updting my iPad directly, and transfering photos and files with dropbox. I might as well be using a PC & expect software upgrades sent out before they work. Sorry about the earlier report, I should have waited.

I ended up using AppZapper to nuke all of the iTunes stuff, delete the library file and the XML database, reinstall iTunes 10.5.3 from the Apple website, and then manually re-adding all of my media. It's extremely slow and extremely lame.
