iOS 5 update issues "Network Connection could not be established"

Keep getting error, "Network Connection cannot be established". I thought last night was possibly do to,

server being busy. But at 06:30 this morning same error. MY info: Itunes 10.6, Iphone 4S 5.01 Connected directly to my Macbook and internet connection is fine. Does anyone have or had same issue or ideas?

I have tried for days and finally switched my DNS to Google's Public DNS. I was very hesitant to do this since I am not a tech geek, but it worked wonderfully for me. I've deleted the Google DNS now that my update is complete, but I don't see any issues in keeping the Google DNS from what I've read online.
