New iPad (3rd Generation) Pre-Order info.

I don't know that you will get anymore than a date and a delivered by time on that date. Your best option is to pre sign for it, and go to the shipping company's website and sign up for email notifications (presuming you have a smartphone) This will let you know when it is delivered. Then all you have to do is stay semi close to home on the delivery date so your ipad doesn't sit out for long.

It seems as if I am in a similar boat as most people. I pre-ordered my iPad on Friday morning, and it was shipped out on Sunday. I got the UPS tracking for the iPad along with the case. The iPad left China, went to Alaska on Sunday. From there it went to Louisville, and has been there since Monday the 12th. There has been no updated info with the tracking number for the iPad, as well the UPS doesn't give me a expected delivery date. I received my case today, and that was constantly being updated through the UPS website, and gave me an expected delivery date.

Has anyone actually been talking with UPS about if their packages are actually moving and not being updated on UPS? I am doubtful that I will actually receive mine tomorrow if it hasn't left Louisville yet.

It needs to be shipped up to NB Canada is my main concern.

From reading other posts it appears that UPS won't update it's status until it arrives in your delivery hub. So until it hits there you won't see it departing Louisville where mine has been sitting since Saturday as well. Mine needs to hit Phoenix and then to Lake Havasu City. If it hits Phoenix anytime today or tonight, I should recieve it later tomorrow.

yeah... I guess that makes sense.. A little frustrating however... I'm just impatient, and would like gaurentee that it will be here tomorrow... If not then I can wait till Monday, and carry on with my life and stop refreshing UPS every 20 minutes.. hahaha

I just hope mine gets updated to somewhere in Canada this afternoon, likely Quebec or Ontario, then I Assume it would make an overnight to New Brunswick to arrive tomorrow.

I don't know about UPS but mine was shipped FedEx standard overnight, which means it will be flown wherever it needs to go (unless it's really close). They'll be coming tomorrow!!

They will all get to where they need to be when they need to be there. Really really really they will. I promise under penalty of flame (of the web forum variety; no witches please!). The status reporting system will eventually converge with the on-the-ground reality. Just take it with a grain of salt. For some, your "new" iPad might be 500 miles away early Friday morning; delivery a mathmatical impossibility ... until your door bell rings 20 minutes later, and BAMM there it is! Next thing you know, your elation is tempered by just a touch of embarrassment at getting so wrought up over such relative trivia. (CAVEAT: If you don't have a doorbell, then all bets are off.) 😝

So, am one of the few people that have an estimate delivery for today, the 15th?

A related question. I ordered mine on the 8th. My date keeps changing online. Today it says delivery between 3/16-3/23 however the order is still PROCESSING. Does it matter that it hasn't gone from processing to the next step of Preparing for Shipment? Or How long does it take to Prepare for Shipment before it ships? Is it realistic to think that it could possibly arrive on the 16th when it is still in Processing today?

I'm just grateful for being able to wait in my comfortable living room for my new iPad to arrive tomorrow (benefits of jumping on line ASAP to pre-order) rather than those who will be waiting in line outside their local retail store for hours or even days just to get their hands on one. Keeping this perspective lowers my anxiety - lol

If I were you, I'd call 1800 692 7753 (1800 MY APPLE) and ask them. It would seem likely you may not get your iPad tomorrow. Better to have a real answer than one we guessed at.
