I have a Netgear wireless router, don't know the model but it is probably their least expensive one. Anyways my iphone 3gs will not remember the password. Everyday I set the password in the iphone and by the next day when I check settings in the iphone it says "not connected" and I have to re enter the password. I have to do this every single day if I want to use my wifi with my iphone. Thanks.
Problem solved! I have been struggling with this issue for over a year. I recently got a new iPhone, I went from a T-Mobile 5s to a Verizon 6s and the problem didn't go away. I tried ALL the suggestions in the thread. My phone would remember and automatically log into (seemingly) every other wifi network except for my 2, one at home and one at my office. Then I had an idea, it occurred to me that I was using the exact same name for both my networks (Joe's WiFi Network). I changed the name of one of them and so far my phone has successfully automatically logged into each one perfectly. Keeping my fingers crossed.
What a bunch of b.s. answers! "Buy a new phone," "reset router," etc. This is exactly what Apple wants - a plethora of 'solutions' that we try and try and try until something works. This is the reason that Microsoft and Apple et al never fix anything...they don't have to! They sell us ultra-expensive garbage, then ask US to fix it for them!
The logical solution would be this easy: when you enter your password ON YOUR PHONE for your network, include a simple option to store that password on the phone. This way, no matter what happens externally to the phone, when it comes time for it to sync with the router, then the PHONE "enters" the password for you and connects.
Oh, but that's too easy...
