My wife's user icon doesn't show up as a user option at the start up screen. Only mine and the guest user shows up. This frustrates her to no end. What do I need to do to have both her and my icon to show up?

My computer was turned off for no reason today, few hours ago. I wanted to turn it on but did not pass the gray screen with apple, loading circle and bar below.
I had to force booting from cmd + s with the following: /sbin/mount -uw / then I wrote chmod 775 / and then logout
He started but now my user does not appear in the login window.
The user that appears is one I created for my job a few months ago, but does not have administrator permissions.
FileVault is not enabled, what I can do?
