Have the same problem - tried a lot but did not found any solution. Have you been more lucky in the meantime - did you fix it in some way?

Not a solution, but an easy workaround:

  1. Go to applications > Xcode. Command-click and open the package contents.
  2. Browse to Xcode > Contents > Developer > Platforms > iPhonesimulator.platform > Developer > Applications > IOS-simulator
  3. Create an alias in your dock to the simulator, so you can open it easy from now on.
  4. Open Dashcode and click 'run' on the app you want to test.
  5. The browser simulator opens now. Look at the location it points to. E.g.: ' http://localhost:55751/'
  6. Open the IOS-simulator and enter the location you got from the previous step.
