When I try to sync/apply new music and/or podcasts to my iPod Nano, 6th, iTunes freezes up and I have to Force Quit it.

FYI, After trying everything I could think of, I finally gave in and did a full restore. This solved my problem.
i have a 8GB iPhone 3G and iTunes freezes up, too!

I still have a problem with this on all windows...Had it on windows 7 and now on windows 8 too....
When I restore my 4S, everything will be perfect and as iTunes starts syncing the apps, iTunes freezes....If I try again, it freezes after the restore and at different app each time...
What I do is, I close iTunes from task manager and then, open it back and restore the latest backup, this has worked fine and all the files have been restored perfectly ....This works fine but its really frustrating when the restore doesnt complete....
to resolve the 1303 error and this freezing. i disconnected my NAS driver and reconnected under another drive letter. You will notice that the transfer speeds increase so there is an obvious fix there.
I also move my itunes folder to a different location and basically started afresh with a new library.
All resolved now
