New ipad overheating left hand side , after light use , should i be worried?

Hi guys

Got my lovely new ipad, the new ipad seems to be generating quite a lot of heat, bottom left hand side of the ipad, just after 20 mins of use, whilst surfing online. I have had an ipad 2 before and never had this problem. I have only charged it for an hour so far, and havent done a full charge yet, should i be worried? I aint happy because its getting rather uncomfortable holding it.

iPad (3rd generation) Wi-Fi, iOS 5.1

This is not good. It's new today. I used briefly for 20 minutes and mine didn't feel hot. I have a case on it already so that may limit what I feel. There are more batteries in the 3rd generation and takes 50% more time to charge. It may take 4-6 hrs to charge.

I would totally discharge and do an overnight charge.

I was just using my new iPad outdoors under moderate sun. Just reading news. Was holding it with smart cover folded over back so didn't realize how hot it was, but all of a sudden got a High Temperature warning saying that the iPad has to cool down. Took off smart cover and it was burning, basically too hot to hold. Turned it off right away. This is not good.

Right now I was just streaming online radio station thru wifi on the new ipad for at leat 45 minutes. The ipad was ridiculously hot, however I shutdown the application and within 5 mintues it cooled down. Same as I surfed thru safari, the ipad would become extrmely hot until I leave the thing alone. I dont understand whats going on. Could it be because of the new mAh battery?

My new iPad has been very hot to the touch. Originally I noticed this just browsing the Internet. It was pretty warm. Then, using YouTube, it was hot. I just tried Infinity Blade 2 and my iPad was VERY hot to the point where you can't really touch the back....unless you have no choice but to use it. Very uncomfortable though. Also, the battery drains MUCH faster than my previous two iPads. This is a 64gig 4g with cellular turned off always.

I played with the new iPad today at Best Buy and noticed it was very warm on the left side (where the battery is). I would suggest the discharge, as well as a fresh restore.

@Parallax, don't get quad core graphics confused with basic broswing. It's meant for games, like Infinity Blade.

That retina display sure uses a lot of juice. Makes me want to wait until next year.
