visible light leakage on ipad 3, very annoying

Just received my new ipad (32G wifi, black). After turning it on for the first time I noticed a visible light leakage at the top edge of the screen, it is at least one inch long and very annoying indeed! I've googled this issue and found that there are some others complaining about the same thing, while one guy mentioned that, for his device 'the leakage disappeared after 2 hours of use'. well, I've been using it for at least 3 hours and it doesn't seem to get even a little bit better. I'm quite disappointed as my ipad 2 has no such issue at all, not to mention that the new ipad seems to generate more heat, makes it uncomfortable to hold it like a book. I'm bringing it to my local store tmr, hopefully they can do sth about it.

And I have left my iPad as it is, 50% brightness with auto on. And I can see lights at the top of my iPad, under the bezel. Shouldn't be there. Nothing to do with bright or not. It's a problem with the hardware.

Yes, it probably is. I'll be over as soon as I can to try to fix it.

If you don't feel like waiting until I show up, maybe you should just talk to Apple and let them address it? Probably be a much quicker process ....

We're trying to establish just how many bad ipad 3rd gens out there made it past "quality control" into an end users hands.

This is getting out of hand (again) and is basically the iPad 2 screen bleed problem all over.

Hi mate I have same problem with my iPad 3. I walked into comet and the first 1 I picked up had the same lights under the bezel. I asked, and he said no problem at all it's just common in led screens as the iPad 3 is the most powerful screen out. What has happened with you, have you replaced?
