New iPad with dust under screen

So I just got a brand new today. Boot up the gorgeous screen, go through the setup, reach a white screen and...

Nice big old piece of dust dead center on the screen. Tried cleaning it and rubbing it to no avail.

I know Apple is usually pretty good with sending you a replacement but should I expect a long wait for my brand new iPad I received today. Should I expect to wait 2-3 weeks for a new iPad or does apple usually expedite issues like this?

Hi! How did you know it was dust under the glass and not dead pixels?

My ipad 3 has 3 pixels that when on a black screen display random colors, depending on the view angle.

So I don't know if those are dead pixels or dust. Anyways, I'll be sending this to the closest mac store. But since this is my second ipad (first one had a black pixel). I just want to know whats going on so I can tell the mac guy.

Thanks! and sorry about my bad english 😝

I'm reviving this thread, because apparently the quality control at Apple hasn't gotten the message. I bought an iPad Air 2 which was almost perfect, due to a couple specks of dust I found under the screen within the black borders.. I figured since the white specks weren't directly on the pixel portion of the screen, I wasn't going to make a big deal out of it.. several months later, I decide to buy the iPad Pro 9.7 inch. I clean the screen meticulously before putting on a screen protector and notice a nicely sized white speck of dust I can't seem to clean off... at first, I wasn't sure what I was looking at, and thought it might have been a dead pixel.. but further google searches suggest dead pixels don't display when the screen is off... alas I found this thread...

2 iPads with dust under the screen, and the pro model has it under the pixel portion... my tolerance for this crap only goes so far... you spend a lot of money on Apple products to find out you can't only get a flawless device by constant returns and exchanges... and I say that after exchanging two Series 2 Apple watches due to defects, and finally giving up and returning the 3rd for a refund.... I'm really losing my respect for this company...
