My iPad doesn't connect to 4G when switching from WiFi.

I've never had this problem with my older iPad. But the new iPad (version 3) doesn't pick up 4G when switching from Wifi. I get bars but not Internet connection. I've rebooted, I also reset the network settings. My wife and I bth have the same new iPad but she doesn't have this problem, only mine...

I have found a possible solution that seems to be working for me. Go to the Settings app and then General, then scroll down to Reset. Reset the Network Settings. Your will lose your WiFi settings but it will still remember your LTE setup and account. When you perform the network reset the iPad will reboot. Once rebooted, reestablish WiFi. You should be able to again switch back and forth between WiFi and LTE without problems. Before doing this I could not reconnect to LTE service after making a WiFI connection. Post if this works so we can get the word out.

Interesting Trigger one. I was not able to connect to LTE service after making a WiFi connection but performing the network reset cleared that problem up. I am now once again able to switch back and forth without issue. For a while I did leave LTE off and that seemed to mostly work, though occasionally I would not be able to switch to 3G either. I have applied the latest iOS update (6.0.1) though the network settings reset worked with 6.0.0. I didn't notice any change after applying 6.0.1, but things were already working.

Please post whether 6.0.1 made a difference for you. One note--Have you tried the iPad with a clean install, before you restored from backup? You noted that you received a new iPad (and new SIM) but still have the problem. If you reset the iPad back to factory default and connect to WiFi, can you connect to LTE and switch back and forth? That was going to be the next thing I tried if the network reset didn't work for me.

I too have had a problem over the past few days where I cannot access anything via celluar connection. This all seemed to happen with the update to IOS 6.0.1. I have tried the reset all settings as recommended by others, but that has made no difference for me.

This is a serious problem that Apple has to address, as it does not seem to be a carrier specific problem at all.

My iPad3 worked fine connect to Verizon 4GLTE for months and after the updates, not so good, as in not at all. It would connect to 4G, strong 3 bar signal and then flip over to 3g. It would even go back to 4G after it went to sleep then revert back to 4G.

My solution was to suspend service at Verizon. I am paying for 4G and I'm not getting it and I am right next to 2 known 4G LTE towers. I only have to go a mile north and I can get 5 bars.

Roll back the updates Apple, you did something. You messed this up like you did with the maps. After the next update, I'll reconnect with Verizon and see what happens. I have wi-fi every where that I am so not that big of a deal.
