Printer Exorcism Needed

My printer (HP PSC 1510) fails, w/an alert saying another device is using it. Ive looked in various places and see no obvious duplications of printer software. I recently trashed the software, downloaded new software. Printer worked once and then only moved ink cartridges. I uninstalled and reinstalled again. Printer bug light flashes ,cartridges move but nothing else. I only want scanning. Printer software doesnt see printer. Sys Profile sees it.

I think it's some hp thing running, & yes, it may be the ink being out that is causing it, got rid of my last hp injet because it kept telling me the ink cartridges were past a certain date... even though they had plenty of ink in them, then it required many steps to get it to ignore that message & print anyway.

Hi SG1776,

I understand your printer is out of ink and giving error lights, right? This indeed may cause the scanning issue. If there are errors or error lights on the device, it might be busy by that and then scanning can fail. Did see that especially for the older products from HP. Therefore I suggest, to insert new cartrigdes first in order to solve the blinking lights and align the printer and then test scanning again.

Btw, there will be an Expert Day on HP forumin two weeks where HP people are replying on questions. Maybe you can post yours then as well?!

Regards,

Mandy
