1080p Videos Not Syncing to New iPad3

I have a new iPad 3 (64gb 4G) and cannot sync 1080p videos from the latest version of iTunes running on my iMac 27 (Lion).

I purchased the complete Game of Thrones season in 1080p via iTunes and downloaded all episodes to my iMac. I did a final sync on my iPad 1 and did the intitial sync of my iPad 3 (64GB 4G) from the last backup on my iPad 1. There were no issues during the sync. All of my previous purchased conten syncs and plays on my new iPad.

But, when I selected a couple episodes of the Game of Thrones in 1080p and did a Sync, I got a message saying that they could not sync because my computer was not authorized to play them. That I should authorize my computer. My computer WAS authorized. I was able to play any of the 1080p Game of Thrones videos on my computer.

I tied deauthorizing and reauthorizing the iMac. Same message. I tried deauthorizing ALL compters from my account and only reauthorizing my iMac. Same message.

I have only ever had one Apple ID and it was that Apple ID I used to make all of my purchases.

I can download the episodes from iCloud directly to my New iPad, but I would like to be able to sync them.

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

I tried calling Applecare and they were completely stumped!!!

If you haven't done it already, I'd suggest going to apple.com/iTunes and downloading and reinstalling the latest version of iTunes. Even if it's the same version that you have installed right now, a reinstall often helps me when I'm having iPhone or iPad related iTunes problems on my Mac, and things just magically start working again.

Mike, did you ever figure out a solution for this? I'm having the same problem. From what I can tell, this isn't limited to only 1080p videos with my new iPad. For example, Game of Thrones (1080p) and How I Met Your Mother (1080p) won't sync, and Return of the King Extended Edition (480p, digital copy from blu-ray/iTunes) won't sync either. However, an episode of 30 Rock that I have at 720p does sync.

I've tried de-authorizing/re-authorizing my computer. I've tried manually managing as well. One difference that I have is that I don't actually get any error messages. Simply nothing happens when I try to sync.

I may try restoring my iPad tomorrow to see if that works, otherwise I'm stumped.

How did you get a personalized Avatar? I tried, but could only change the main photo but it won't let me select a personalized Avatar.

That's only for good-looking and highly intelligent forum members! 😁

Seriously, that's one of the bennies of the higher levels. I forget what level is necessary for the personalized avatar but L1 doesn't hack it. Your level is based on your point accumulation and you build up points when others indicate that you've either helped or solved a problem.

I did find a fix for the problem.

On OSX, you need to delete the SC Info folder from the following location:

/Users/Shared/SC Info

The SC Info folder is where iTunes stores the authorization file for your computer. It is a hidden file and the directory will look empty. When you delete it, you then need to reauthorize your computer from within iTunes.

Thats it.

After doing this, I was able to sync my 1080p videos to my iPad 3.

Let me know if this helps anyone.

Thanks,

Mike

Well, for me it only worked when i rendered my video in 1080i (1440x1080) using 1,33 pixel aspect ratio. When i was render in 1080p (1920x1080) the itunes could not sync my video cause it could not be played in my Ipad.

Im using Windows with Sony Vegas and i have the New Ipad 4G. I hope it works.
