itunes music store doesn't work since itunes update

I know this question has already been raised, but I'm following Dave's suggestion about starting a new thread - plus I want to underscore the number of people with this problem! Since I downloaded the new iTunes, when I try to connect to the music store the progress bar goes about halfway and then just sits there 'connecting' eternally. Really hard to imagine why we'd all suddenly be having this problem if it isn't due to a bug with the new version of iTunes.

Thanks so much jdub....this worked for me too. It seems a lot of people are in this boat and the error message from iTunes is not really clear about where the problem lies. From reading the listings, some folks seem like the've been 'afflicted' for over 3 weeks. I just upgraded my iTunes last night and experienced the problem for about 10 minutes this morning when I discovered this thread and 'voila' now I am a happy camper again...thanks again for the good, clear advice!
