Why are the films so expensive on iTunes?
Why is the films so bloody expensive? I can't believe they want so much money for movies from iTunes.

Note to self: you wish.
But yeah the films as somewhat pricey except you have a convenient Amy to access your video library. That makes them ok in my book at least :)
Same. I prefer everything I watch to be in iTunes rather then wasting a trip to a store to buy a DVD and then ripping it. Most movies I buy are $10 and an occasional HD movie ranging from $17.99 to $19.99 isnt bad. Last DVD I bought in 2006 was $19.99. I don't see anything wrong with the pricing in the US.
I think is too much expensive as well. I do not know but i do not really think that movie developers control the prices. I think Apple control it. I see it fast same as video shops. They had not the prices from movie developers but they had their own prices (atleast in my country). But whatever, its not necessary to know who control the prices cause one (movie industry) or second (Apple) is stupid in this things.
About 10years back i was registrated in some movie shop i payed about 1$ for movie for a day. Now when i find the prices its on 2$. Apple rental is 5$. Sorry, but in poor countries they rather get the film somewhere on the internet.
If Apple reduce the prices i guess many people with Apple TV instead of get the film by non-legal way will rent the film for 1.5-2.5$. The movie developers, producers, actors, apple will get some money.
For example if any movie will be about 2$ for a day. I will rent film every day. In one year they will get about 500$ (if i will not rent every single day) from me only. Now they got 0$ for a year for me because i do not really want to pay 5$ cause its really too much.
Wait till they go on sale. Every week there are several movies for $9.99. I have NEVER paid more then $9.99 for a single movie.
Just today, I bought all five Paranormal Activity movies for $20/ That's right, all five were $20 bundled together.
I always look forward to Monday night when the iTunes Store updates the movie page.
Amazon and Comcast both charge the same prices to rent the same HD movie (at least new released) as the iTunes Store charges. So if the movie studios aren't in primary control, one would think that someone would be undercutting the other service's prices.
In any case, if a price doesn't suit you, don't pay it. As a consumer, you have the power ot vote with your feet, by patronizing some other service that suits you better.
Regards.
Ye exactly i am doing that, i am not paying it. But its shame for me, for "you", for all customers and for movie industry as well. Cause if they reduced prices, more people will buy it. And they will have then SAME or MORE money.
I can do nothing alone. We can do nothing in 5 ppl, we can do nothing in 1083092183091 with kidding on forum. But i guess some corporation as Apple is, as Amazon is, as Comcast is can do something. They can push on movie industry and they can reduce the prices.
But how i said and how said more ppl in here. Buying some movie for 13$> on iTunes when DVD version cost 5$ is really creepy.. Rent some movie for 5$ > on iTunes when it cost in movie shop 1-2$ is really creepy..
Not that odd.
Apple does / did control the prices of music, and it's only when they set music to $0.99 that the massive file sharing / Napster type stuff began to slow down. Apple does have the power to control this stuff when it wants to, but unlike music where it truly cared, movies aren't as big a deal for them (or whatever the reasoning)...
That was rude!
Which is entirely your choice, its a free world, spend your money as you want.
